Great forum here, with lots of valuable information for people like myself.
I'm currently using FCE 4.0 as my NLE, and as such can only Log & Transfer 1080 50i footage. I wish to be able to use 720p footage (for smooth slow mo etc..,.) but FCE will not log this as it's an unsupported frame rate (not 25fps).
I understand that I can convert this footage from the GH1 to .mov/AIC and then use JES interlacer to change the frame rate to 25fps so I can still use FCE.
What program would you guys/gals best recommend to convert my MTS files, I understand that VoltaicHD can be quite slow (x10 the duration of original clips). I've also looked into Toast 10 (handy function to burn short HD films to standard DVDs), not sure of it's performance. Any clarification on this or other workflows suggestions would be much appreciated.
