720p/25p & 720p/25pn?

A 4GB card will hold 10 minutes of 720/24pN, but only 4 minutes of 720/24p.
(I assume it's about the same for PAL)
N stands for Native, meaning that you are only recording the native frames. Shooting in Native is 2.5 times more efficient space-wise.

Right, where can I read about the technical side of this so I fully understand as it is still not totally clear. What do folks usually use in PAL land?

25p = 25 frames embedded within a 50p data stream. Takes up twice as much space on the P2 card as 25pN, and also streams out the firewire port.

25pN = only records the frames it uses, no duplicates are created. Allows for in-camera preview of overcrank/undercrank. More efficient recording time on the cards. Cannot be used for streaming out the firewire port.

When shooting to the cards, you'd normally use 25pN. The only reason to use 25P instead is if you somehow need to stream data through the firewire.

Does the FS-100 support 24Pn with variable frame rates native? Is uses firewire to stream, can you use it to record over/undercrack framerates?
