Hey everyone. So I just got my HVX and I've been editing P2 720p HD footage in Avid Xpress Pro HD pretty easily (except for the fact that I can't stream via firewire back to the camera, but that's a different thread). Does anyone have any ideas on an offline workflow solution for this format (specifically 720P/24P HD)???
For example, let's say I wanted to give a director a DVCPRO tape or DVCAM tape of the HD footage we'd shot so that they could edit on their own avid system (on a much crappier computer that couldn't handle DVCPRO-HD editing). How would I go about ensuring timecode continuity (being that it's 23.98 and not 29.97) and what would be the best way to go about doing that (do I make a timeline with all the MXF files and then just output them via firewire to DV, can I even do that from a 720p HD timeline??? probably not).
As you can see I'm thoroughly confused here, and am looking for anyone who's had any experience in offline/online editing with HD and might be able to offer some insight. I welcome any ideas... or thoughts on how stupid this idea might be in the first place. Maybe the DVCPRO/DVCAM tape idea is dumb... Are there any better workflow ideas out there? Could I make low res quicktimes that would match the original HD timecodes? HELP?
