I am shooting a 4 hvx 200 multicamera for a sport event ((3 day canoe marathon (boats choppers lots of logistics batterys 3fs 100 p2 card laptops etc)) .

I want to shoot the project in 1080 60 i since it seems to work ok in my avid x press set up.I would like one camera to grab the start a 720P60 for a nice slow mo fast shutter shoot.

Can I bring this footage back in my 1080 60i time line .
If yes what work flow.

Can I create a new 720p24 project and export qt referece open it after effects and create a 1080 60i qt to import back in the time line.I dont have time to check.just received barrys dvd I will try to watch some in the truck on the way up to the gig.3 hrs drive.please help

can I shoot the start at 729 60p and worry about it later.and whith out renting a deck for post.

thank you in advance

1080 60i is 29.97 interlaced video. What is your final product?
If it TV then 60i is fine.
You can shoot 720 60p for "nice slow mo fast shutter shoot".
You then have to use the Frame rate convertor to make
a 720 30p (29.97) slo mo file and then you up-res that
to 1080. Or you could shoot 720 30PN at 60fps and get the
slo-mo effect and you can see it playback in camera.
If you need it back to regular speed you could always
speed it up 200%. You do not want to use a 720p 24
project if your ultimate goal is a 29.97 based product.
The only time you might need a deck is to make your
final master.

Or you could shoot 720 30PN at 60fps ...
does avid support this PN in express ro

You then have to use the Frame rate convertor...
is this in Avid or do this in after effects
will de degradation of the up res be accepted for networks hdtv

thank you again for your time

I did not see the AVID EXPESS PRO line.
I don't know about AVID?
I would ask this question in
an AVID centric forum.

But I would imagine you would see
less degradation in an uprezzed 720 shot
then you would get just trying to
slo-mo a 1080 interlaced clip.

Just try it out. If you are renting the cameras,
go and do a quick test at the rental house.....

And if you are planning on being on the water....
I would look at renting some underwater housings.
