When shooting for standard beta broadcast with the HVX, which is better quality? DVCpro50 or 720 resized? If 720 is, then why even include DVCpro 50 as an option?
720 or pro50?

Well it depends what you are resizing it to, if i was shooting beta broadcast though, i would just go with dvcpro50, it just makes things simpler

I figured DVCpro is easier for SD stuff since it actually is SD.
But is the quality difference between DVCpro50 and 720 that much different when you're end product is 4:3 and will be put onto beta?

There's about 50% more data in the 720 HD file and to my eye there's a distinct quality difference in the HD footage as we would expect there to be.
But DVCPro 50 looks MUCH better than standard DV (to my eyes at least).
If I was going 4x3 and these were the 2 choices presented to me I'd shoot DVCPro 50.
