If you shoot with 720 60p recording setup and a 24 fps frame rate, and dont go thru a frame rate converter, do you get the same results as if you were shooting 720 24p (not pn) and didn't remove pulldown? I did that by accident, (the intention was to shoot straight 60p footage, but when I changed the recording setup I didn't realize the frame rate was at 24 and not default). the footage plays ok on my p2 viewer and on my avid express (project settings 720 60p). As the footage was just talking heads, I dont think anyone is going to realize any different cadence.
I'm just a bit worried if final cut does the frame rate converting (I dont have it to test) when you p2 import the footage, and they would get a 60p 2.5 fast motion footage if they edit using that. Actually I dont really know what application I would use to convert frame rates if shooting slo or fast motion in 720p. Whenever I use this feature of the hvx i tell my clients its better to shoot pn, to see the effect on the spot (even though for almost any other kind of shots I shoot 720p so I can monitor using dvrack).
On a related topic, when I shoot 720 24p, Avid just recognizes it as 60p. I have avid express 5.5.3. How can i remove pulldown from this clips so avid recognizes them as 24p.
Thanks
