720/30p FCP to DVD/BR

So im still having issues. No dvd I burn plays on anything other then my Macbook pro it seems. Tells me disk is dirty, or mixed media disk and wont play. Anyone know whats wrong? This is the exact steps I've taken

Finish editing, Timeline is in AppleProRes. I export to QT with current settings. I then take that .mov file to compressor and use DVD Best Quality 90min and set all settings to SD. I then submit, wait 3 hours, take the two files that come out, .ac3 and .m2v (i believe thats file extensions, not on computer right now), Import them as assets and put them on track 1. Set the settings in preferences to SD DVD, only thing that is weird is I go to encoding window and theres two windows in there MPeg2 SD, and Mpeg2 HD, although doesnt give any option to choose eigther or. Once I double check its all SD DVD i simulate and then burn.

Only three things I can think of that might be wrong. 1 the dvd's I have are bad, which seems weird that they all are. they are dvd-r, should i try dvd+r? The super drive has gone bad, since thats a common issue with macs apparantly, maybe its just burning dvds bad? which would suck. Or could it be an issue with before I export to QT from FCP? Maybe some edit issue?

If someone could point out my issue it would be much appreciated. At this point I don't even care if its something silly I missed and I look like an idiot. I just want this figured out.

So I tried the dvds out in a different dvd player and they play (however the footage looks a lot different, weird amount of contrast, not sure why). Would this be because of the dvds being dvd-r? I didnt think there was an issue with Xbox360 playing Dvd-r's (one of the dvd players that it didnt work in) Or would it just be an issue with the files?

Elmy, Did you figure this out? I'm having the same issue right now. Shot 720/30p and want to burn a DVD. I followed David's instructions and it plays on my Mac but not in my (admittedly somewhat old) dvd player...
Thanks,
Paige
