720/24PN with new ver3 firestore?

So this mode is supposed to be supported and other people seem to be able to make it work but I am unable to record anything in PN.

As soon as I switch over to 24PN in recoding setup from 24P or any other mode I loose my 1394 connectivity. Below the "no p2" icon where there is normally a "1394--" that "1394--" goes away and I cannot record to the firestore. And yes the 1394 control is set to "BOTH" and my firestore is in DVCPRO HD mode and in DV formats I have tried "P2" "P2 PN" and "Quicktime PN" and I cant get the FS to respond to the record trigger on the HVX.

Are my settings wrong or is ver3 just buggy?
 
Yea I tryed that before and again right now, it records for a fraction of a second then goes to a different screen and says "NO SPACE LEFT"
