720 24 workflow

so because of the weak 1080 codec on the gh1 i'd like to start shooting primarily in SH 720p mode but I still want it at 24p, I know i can convert in cinema tools and then speed up the video to 222% (or somewhere around there) to get real time 24p, is there an easier way?

Hi, pgillpro. What do you mean when you say the 1080p codec is weak? I'm in the process of purchasing the GH1 and trying to get all the input and research I can before actually buying one. Thanks.
 
Nice! Hey, do you guys know if using Canon FD lenses are good? And what adaptor should I buy?

Me too.

I rarely use 720p 60fps any more unless I want to go for slow mo. I love GH1 at 1080p even more.

But back to 60fps -> 24fps post, I use neoscene and it does the job well for me.
 
I used to shoot 720p until got I started doing full screen playback in realtime as I edited with another monitor...the 1080p holds up much much better.
 
thanks guys for the input, I only had some doubt about the 1080 because of the mud in the blacks on a recent music video i shot, haven't given up on it totally yet just wanted to explore another option. thanks!
