72 progessive?

Can the 100A shoot 72 frames a second? A friend of mine rented a 100A recently and said it could.

sure it can, as well as 1798fps, progressive mind you. Those are your presets 24pn, 24pa, 30p, 60i, 72i, 72p and 1798i, 1798p.

I guess you could if you used 3 DVX100s started exactly 1/72 a second apart and then combined all the footage, otherwise...uh, no.

I'm sorry that was mean of me before. YOur friend is wrong, unless he knows something that nobody else does. Please ask him to share his experience with us.

Yea well he MIGHT know something because he is one of the main Engineers at my TV station. But then again I haven't believed everything he has told me in the past!

Unquestionably the answer is no. It shoots at 24 or 30 fps progressive, and that's it (unless it's PAL, at which point it's 25 progressive). And 60i interlaced. There is no provision for shooting faster than 60i.
