7" field monitor for a 5D2

SmallHD OLED but $2600 range. They have others less costly that are only LCD but still I really like their products. I've been shopping around for a good 7" myself and have pretty well decided on SmallHD.

i am debating to buy a zucuto or dp4 or just instaled magic latern i need it for the focus asisst for my 5d3 has any one try magic latern for the 5d3. If it work good i can save money on external evf.

There is a liliput monitor on ebay. I am going to test one out today, if all goes well. They are $333, and have most specs of smallHD.

Too bad small HD didnt bother finding EU dist. Id love to try them but cba to mess around with tax, customs and so on... so Marshall 7" MD3G it is. I trust it will be great...

I borrow ikan VL5-KIT-S 5" HDMI Field Monitor Kit

using my 5d3 i was disapointed it did not fill the screen i try the the diferent aspect ratio still did not fill the whole screen. Good thing about it is the b/w red peaking it work great can easily focus also the camera display monitor is shut of that a dissapointment i like to see both on. I was wrong on not full screen on the monitor i had to press info button couple of time to make it full screen.ikan.jpgikan2.jpgikan3.jpgikan4.jpgcost of this monitor is about 224 doll

I did an unboxing of the new Professional Lilliput 663/o/p 7" 1280x800 IPS Peaking Focus Hdmi in + Output 1080p Monitor with Tally Input By Viviteq Inc. on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQrxF_ciA28. As I have said I have not compared it to other brands, but comparing it to an iPad2. Its sharper than the iPad2 but not quite as bright (but not a huge difference if you adjust brightness and contrast to max). My biggest gripe is the highly reflective screen which I have yet to get a anti-glare cover for. In using it outdoors (Arizona USA sun) I basically cut about a 12" long cardboard tube which I spraypainted inside black and that seems to work well. Also, 7" is around 2lbs with battery and to me that is pretty heavy to be on a small camera without a rig or sticks/stabilization. It really makes handheld quite straining, so I put it on its own stand and I also made a yoke for it because I don't trust the mount it comes with. IMG_3701.jpg

I often use a SmallHD monitor with the Zacuto EVF. I love SmallHD's products. The Zacuto EVF is a solid device, but I feel like you're paying a premium for the Zacuto name. I'd get the SmallHD DP4 for an EVF if I was looking for the best value.

I have a marshall 5.5" inch and it is a good sized monitor. 7" inch would be too big for me I think.
