7.2v vs 7.4v

I just bought another extra battery for my dvx and I noticed it is a 7.4v where my original battery is a 7.2. I bought this battery because it is 5400mAh and I needed the longer battery life.

Does anyone know if this is OK to use with my camera and will it have any adverse long term effects?

Thanks
Travis

Are you sure you are not loooking at a 3600 mAh ? Anything from 7.2 V to 7.9 V is fine I assume.

Barry ?

These battery packs are Li-Ion celled, each with a 3.7V cell: they are sometimes also called 3.6V cells. That is their NOMINAL voltage; when fully charged their voltage will be higher, when discharged the voltage will be lower.
To get to 7.2V (or 7.4V) and a higher capacity they use a multiple of cells in parallel and series.
One of these cells can go up to 4.2V when charged, so a 7.2V or 7.4V nominal battery pack can go up to 8.4V when fully charged.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Sorry about the multiple posts. Something went weird with my computer and/or connection...I didn't mean to do it.

Anyway, thanks for your great info...I am charging it up right now
