64 Bit?

[qatarshooter]

Anyone heard rumors of a 64 bit version of Final Cut Studio coming out in the near future? Apple went 64 bit with Aperture 3 and Logic Pro got the upgrade at NAMM, maybe a NAB announcement? It would be great to be able to address more memory.

Only Apple knows, and it is always tight mouthed.

64-bit Final Cut Studio?

i wish apple would get with it. Final Cut is one of the most expensive Apple bits of software you can slap down your hard earned dollars on. did i really need a 64 bit version of Aperture, ok maybe I did, but I really really could benefit from an FCS upgrade or at least I think I can. I dream of fast renders that fully utilize the processing power of 8 64 bit cores and 20 gigs of ram. that article says its not coming soon but i am holding out high hopes for a NAB announcement.

One thing to keep in mind is if any of your NLE packages goes 64-bit, all your 32-bit third-party plugins magically become useless.

Exactly- be careful what you wish for... :violin:
