Not crop per se, but you can use the clear digital zoom with very good results

How much can you digital zoom without visible noise?

It depends on your exposure, if you are exposing two stops higher as many recommend in slog2/3 you can go to 1.6x zoom with almost the same noise. After that there is not "more" noise, just more evident. I would recommend using 4k if you are going with more than 1.6x zoom cause the noise is smaller and can be better disguised when down sampling to 1080.
