60p to 24p (PC user)

I am trying to figure out how to get my 720 60p footage to 24p. I have read neoscene has this ability but am wondering if any one has any experience with using neoscene to convert in this way.

Also can any suggest any other programs that would be good for this task. There are a lot more people talking about this conversion with MACs using cinema tools.

Thanks!

Have you checked out the GH1 Workflow subforum, where there's a lot of discussion about that kind of thing? (Dunno whether the specific point has been addressed as although I'm a PC user, I'm PAL, so I've not needed to research the matter).

good luck with pc

I just sold my brand new i7 core pc and got a used mac pro and life is a whole lot easier...

Vegas does it pretty well. Simply drop the 60p clip in a 24p timeline (be sure to right click and set properties to disable resample) render as 24p and it will drop the extra frames.

Really ? I was always told that I need to do the pulldown removal outside Vegas and then re-import the files to work on them (look at my thread on workflow section).

Edit:

Nevermind my earlier post, you are talking about 60p footage...... and I was talking about 24p footage enclosed in 60i wrapper.

dmoreno,

I was told this by someone on Vimeo also about Vegas. So ideally I could edit my film and then export the final as 24p. And if that is not suggested and I'm dropping in all my footage and taking time to export all of it first, what do you normally export out as to not loose much quality and be able to still edit?

Thanks!
