ok im buying my friends extremely liiiiiightly used dvx100b for 3500 cdn...i plan on spending the rest on accessories and such, what should i get...i want...

35mm adapter
lights
boom mic
anything else?

let me know

oh yeah sorry...a good tripod was suppose to be on that list....i just dont know where to start with all this ****....what makes a good tripod?...theres alot of crap out there.....same goes with everything else....i want a good mic and lights.

also i need to get down to the bottom of the 35mm competition....which one is the best...i've personally narrowed it down to either the brius(spelling?) or the m2.

also matte box? neccessary? i've never found out the purpose of it...i only know that it makes the setup look pretty bad ass.

how much is that u.s.? i found a new one on the b&h site for 2,899.95 after rebate, but that may be more than than 3500 cdn (canadian?)

regardless, get a good case to protect that baby!!! i have a pelican 1510 which is good hard case and small enough to carry on a plane.

theres shipping and possibly duty on that yet...so it would be over 3500

im more of a backpack person, its what i've used for 3 or 4 years.

back on topic....i still need a mic and lights....show me some links people!!!!

Isn't $3500 Canadian like $2975 US? I bought a new DVX100B from Willoughbys today for $2500 after rebate. They are an authorized dealer and didn't give me any problems at all. They already sent it out and sent me the UPS tracking #. I think $2500 is the lowest price going right now from an authorized dealer. You might just wanna get a new one that comes with Magic Bullet and all rather than a $3500 CDN used one. Just a thought.

100% with that, 3500cdn is high for a used 100b. As for cheap lights just fork over the cash now, I bought a ton of cheap lights in my day and have been regretting (and replacing) them ever since. I think the M2 is killer, not only is the adapter awsome but the rods are killer as well, plus tech support from the M2 guys rocks. If your going to buy a 35mm adapter think about your lens options now and not latter. Nikons are the way to go but budget atleast 500 usd for them. And don't forget a field monitor.

On a side note the rowecine dolly is a nice investment as well if your buying an adapter.

i've decided on nikon already.i shoot alot film so i would be benefiting from both my filmingmaking and photography, right now i only have a 50mm.

where would i find good lights?

i still need a mic suggestion.

which is better the brevis or the m2
