Bad is Bad - Full feature length movie

Synopsis:
A locally loved suburban family man has to pay for the worst thing he's ever done when two mysterious young criminals break into his home.

HD/96 minutes

If this was rated it would be "R" for...well, lots of things, so kids beware. I recommend watching in fullscreen, in HD, and with good headphones or speakers.

Bad is Bad is our first feature length movie. It was written when we were 19 and shot when we were 20. Our total budget was about $6,000. We filmed it in 18.5 days in Richmond, Virginia in the summer of 2010 using the Canon 7d (which made up a quarter of our budget alone).

We put it online for free to give the movie the widest audience possible. If you like this movie please spread the word and share the link, either on your blog, your favorite forum, Facebook, Twitter, or whatever. It makes a big difference! We have two more screenplays for low budget features we'd love to film, and the bigger this movie becomes online, the easier it will be for us to make that happen!

Spoiler: Spoiler
That was pretty messed up. I wasn't quite sure where they were going to take it, but to rape the father was pretty screwed up (no pun intended). Also, I really feel for that kid.

I thought they did well, but it had some obvious trouble points. A lot of which were DSLR related. Moire, aliasing, jitters, that freaking dead pixel was driving me bonkers, etc. There were some continuity issues as well. I will say that (without headphones on), it sounded pretty good. That's usually what people screw up on with stuff like this. They seemed to have that one down pretty well.

Interesting concept putting it online. I see it got a lot of views today. Good for them.

All this to say, I looked past the small stuff and thought they did well. What's more is they did SOMETHING. Instead of saying, "Well, we can't shoot this because of aliasing, or jitters, or a crop factor," they said, "Screw it, let's make something." That's admirable. They made a feature in less than 3 weeks. So what if you can tell on parts. I'm sure they learned from that one, and now they'll be better for it.

All I ask is that they get a plug in to remove the dead pixel next time!

Thanks guys. BTW I posted the movie up in the user films forum a while back -

If I had a decent desktop computer I might try to get rid of that pixel, but after dredging through a whole re-edit of the movie on my school laptop, I can't imagine how long it will take to render AE compositions for 96 minutes worth of HD footage. Fortunately I think that pixel (along with aliasing and moire) is one of the things that only technical filmmaker people give a second thought to. I've never had a non-filmmaker comment on it.

But damn, I'll never buy a camera off Craigslist again. Canon told me I'm not under warranty to get the pixel fixed.

+1.

By the way, different topic, more to do wiht having 2 ears and one mouth ... I can spend a year just +1ing things i like. I wonder if I can -1. But that's bashing innit.

But we're typing so ten fingers two ears? Never mind. Still having coffee.

Back to the topic, indeed admirable.
