Hello from France,
Months ago I posted a teaser from a upcomming projets called ICON (you can see the thread by clicking ) . This film isn't ready yet, the story has taken much more interest now, and the 30 minutes film will be now a 60 min. drama.
Here you can find 6 min. from the 30 min. version but without the voice of the character who comment a lot. It will certainly be a little bit "incomprehensible" I know, but I hope you'll enjoy the cinematic and the music.
The story is about a independant photographer who is also a serial killer. A madman who use his own victims as victims of the conflict he's covering. The story takes place in 2003, just before is departure for IRAK where he will be captured and retained has an hostage (the cellar scenes in the clip).
This 6 min concerned his attempt in Paris, and the rise of its madness...

Everything was made with the DVX100BE, not in 25p, squeeze, and post prod with Premiere 1.5 and Magic Bullet for the colors corrections.

I only used a mic for the scene in the kitchen, the only one with dialogue. It was an AKG 451.
But every sounds was entirely made in post-production, from the breath to the streets noises, footsteps, etc...

looks really good, would love to see it as a complete piece, the pace of the edit seems spot on. You may want to put a warning about the nudity at the start of the clip, will probably get you more views as well

what setting did you use, can you give more details about how you got that awsome look?

Thanks for your answers deepentertainments, dangal and ade4all.
- I understand that this movie doesn't revealed the story as well, but you will probably had the entire movie with english subtitles in september.
- Thanks for the editing, I shooted a lot in the street without any autorisation, playing the tourist with the script in mind. Wasn't very easy, but fun.
- For the colors corrections I used the setting included in Premiere (light, contrast, masks etc..) and then for the "unity" of the differents locations, I used Magic Bullet and then desaturate or alterate some areas.

I thought it looked spot on. But the edit was a little slow for me. But I also just sat through 5 hours of student films...they were very artistic. But yours looked great and sounded fine to me. I wish I could get my stuff to look like that.

For my part, I learned a lot by myself, made a lot of mistakes and craps, and at the end, the story always remind me that technic isn't everything. The story and the characters are the most important. Despite the lack of technic and konwledge of it. Only the story.
