I too have been building my own PCs since Windows 2.1 in the late 80's but I am done with building Windows PCs since I now prefer my Macs. Ask any IT guy what is a bigger pain in the a** to support, Windows PCs or Macs and 99.9999% of the time they will say Windows . Windows has 90% market share in desktop OSs and 99% of the security problems with malware etc.Thats fantastic. Unfortunately I have no idea how what you are saying applies to this discussion whatsoever, outside of telling us how you paid 7,000 for a macpro that I could prrroobably build for 5,000, but that in ur circumstances saving money isnt an issue since you know, pulling in that 24,000 dollars a week. Which is impressive, I wish I could make 1.1 million dollars a year like you.
Edit: oh and I don't run anti-virus nor have I ever had any virus issues. I'm super lucky what can I say. PS - I wasn't aware macs were impervious to viruses?
Well yeah, pretty hard to complain when your a millionaire right? I'd probably make all kinds of things happen.
Strange, been using/building pcs for nearly as long and I've never had an issue whatsoever. I guess I'm just lucky. I might play the lotto tomorrow.
Not even trashing it, I'm pointing out that they are borderline scamming people into buying a 5k monitor for 1,600 dollars that they cant use (efficiently) for anything that you would even need the 5k for based on the specs that come with it. (well i guess you could put a sick screensaver on it)

Again, my point is if you are technically savvy you can always and I mean always save a bunch of money by building your own PC. Its been like that forever. Also as an added bonus in addition to saving money I can pick and choose which component to upgrade in the future.
And my other point is that this 5k solution is not a solution at all and seems more like a marketing gimmick to get rid of their old excess hardware (the graphics card being used is older) by pushing the 5K Logo.
But alas, apple supporters would probably drown clutching their macs all the way to the bottom of the ocean before even considering anyone else's point of view.
Which is good business for apple, I mean people keep buying new iphones right?
But I think the issue here is that I'm the type of person who changes his own brakes for 100 bucks instead of paying a shop 500 to do it. It would appear I'm way out of my element in this thread.
