Hi everyone,
I've got a lot of useful information from this forum, mostly passively so far, but this time I'd really appreciate some active advice on this particularly annoying problem:
I have been trying out 5DtoRGB (Windows version 1.5.4 Preview 32bit) to smooth the subsampled colour of 4:2:0 AVCHD - in the first case, from my GH1 (+firmware hack.) Good results.
I also have some footage shot on an AF101 which is low-key and contains mostly black and blue. As you can imagine, the blues show up blocky-looking. I have tried using the same version of 5DtoRGB; when I transcode some of these AF101 AVCHD files to any format, using any of the options, the encoder freezes at the final frame. I can press cancel, but the transcoded file is lost.
Here are example images from each transcode - GH1 and AF101:

Here are also the MediaInfo reports for both files:

All of the GH1 files I've tried to transcode have worked, but many of the AF101 files fail. I have also noted that the longer files (~4 min or over) seem less likely to transcode sucessfully.
Resolution and frame rate don't seem to make any difference. Also I don't think the video content is making a difference, I rather suspect it's something in the codec details, or a software issue.
Can anybody lend some extra insight on how or why this is happening?
