The 5DtoBMD picture style is designed to match your Canon DSLR camera to Blackmagic Design cameras, such as the Production Camera 4K. This is possible, since the raw data of e.g. BMPC is actually almost identical to 5DmkIII in terms of dynamic range, and the dynamic range in the video or jpg mode is highly dependent on processing and recovering it from the raw data. 5DtoBMD emulates the color and luma of the “BMD film“ log and provides a higher i.e. the true dynamic range of the DSLR camera and a more filmic look, which was previously possible only with Magic Lantern RAW and RAW processing. Now you can shoot with that dynamic range directly in H264 as well as with HDMI recorders or jpg stills.

It would take a lot to get me shooting H264 with this camera ever again, but the results in the side-by-side video aren't bad. Has anyone tried it out yet?
