5D's out of stock everywhere. Bummer!

Maybe buy the readily available 60D now as a cheap introduction to DSLR video, and if it's to your liking buy a 5DIII when it comes out. Do you specifically need a full frame camera?
 
Adorama is not showing the 5DMK2 as back ordered. Maybe check with them. Samy's also has them in stock, but with the 24-105 lens, not body only.
 
We're kinda close to the release of 5DIII at this stage. Why not just get the T3i at this point if you need a cam now. It's certainly better thought out for video than the 5DII was when it was released. The T3i will get you by for cheap at near the image quality until the 5DIII is released, and then you can bump the T3i down to B cam status.
 
I sold mine some time ago as real big stills are no longer part of what we do. Although it was nice on the wide end of things, we never really used the 5DmkII for ultra shallow DOF work that people tend to overuse today.
We kept a low end T2i for time-lapse work as it covers an HD frame just fine, and we hung on to the GH13 for a crash cam.
We also just sold our Red One to help fund the purchase of cine zooms for the AF100 and F3.
The times they are a changing!

Ain't that the truth.

Good to sell out what you don't really need while it's still worth something.
Although the 5DII is an amazing camera, now may not the the best time to invest in one.
The MkIII is around the corner which should be improved and further reduce the price of an MkII probably by Sept.
At the same time this may be the best time to sell a Letus Ultimate, I don't think the price will be going up.

luckily, i've just sold my letus ultimate last month. I guess the reign of dslr and dv camera getting better and bigger sensor will mark the end of DOF adapter.
 
Used 5d's are currently being sold very close to the price of new. I think it is as high as it can get. So definitely a good moment to sell.
On the other hand, I was expecting the specs of the 5dmkIII before getting into full frame photography and video, but right now it seems as it will be a long wait, so I am currently after a used 5dmkII body too.
 
Adorama had a few of them last week, I know as I called them. Most places are out because of the Tsunami in Japan. So the places that are selling them are selling them for about $400 more than normal for the body.
