5D's audio potential now.

Realistically with the new firmware does the 5D have the potential to produce professional sound. Professional in terms of documentary work. How does it compare for example with the audio form a DVX which has exceptionally good audio. Would I still need to go with seperate audio recoding solution?


* Ive seen some tests on Vimeo was it wasn't conclusive to me, would like to hear from those who have actually used it and can judge what professional audio sounds like.

There is still no way to listen to the recorded audio while shooting. But my Rode on board microphone just arrived today. The new functionality of the 5D's sound certainly justified the investment.
