5DmkII footage + Vegas 9.0a + Magic Bullet Looks = crash?

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if I'm the only one having this problem.

I can apply MBL to a clip, and color grade the still frame, but when I press okay to make the changes appear on the clip on the timeline, it crashes. Anyone else experience this?

specs:
Windows Vista 64-bit
Sony Vegas 9.0a 32-bit
Magic Bullet Looks

-----------------------

edit: I've found a work-around by editing in a 720p timeline rather than 1080p. Not sure what was wrong.

Are you sure MBL works with 64bit Windows?

I'm running MBL with 9.0a 320bit on XP home and it works fine with 5D2 (cinemfored) clips..

Yes, MBL works fine with 64bit Windows. Everything except for 5d2 footage on a 1080p timeline works flawlessly.

First thing, try to isolate the issue to the footage that you are using from the MKII. I own an HMC150 which shoot AVCHD (MPEG-4 h.264) which is the same as the Mark II, well minus the AVCHD since that is Panasonic. You could try and download some AVCHD footage from other users here at DVXUSER and see if MBL will work with that footage and then determine if it is the video codec, or something else. Let us know what you find out.

You never indicated if you are editing an intermediate, I have tried a few, the only thing that works with vegas with out a hitch is Cineform Neo Scene, I use Vegas 8 with MB looks, and cineform for my 5d footage, tried mpeg streamclip, didn't work, tried rendering to avi from the 5d quicktime, didn;t work cineform works

No intermediate. I'm trying to edit the native files.

You haven't got 32Bit floatpoint chosen as colour depth by any chance have you[project properties]?

I can't actually get the file to play. Is there a codec that came with the camera? It's worth mentioning that I don't own a 5d MkII myself.

I didn't do anything but drop it straight into Vegas' timeline. Maybe you have an older version of it?

try cineform neo scene as a trial, works as full program for 7 days, you will be able to edit without a hitch, the native files directly out of the 5d are h.264 qt files. this is a final product, not a file to edit with, after editing render as sony avchd, which is h.264 as a final render. btw, vegas does not like qt files for some reason, especially not to edit with
