Posted on the FS700 forum as most of the footage is FS700. The first clip is 5D3 RAW and lots of 5D3 info: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?322455-FS700-5D3-RAW-and-iPhone-5S-cut-together
I have been trying to get the FS700 to match 5D3 RAW in terms of color- so far it's been a challenge. FS700 AVCHD is plenty sharp and detailed for the internet, but Sony's color processing can't match Canon's, especially for skintones.

If Canon were to release a firmware update that allowed the 5D3 to output 10- or 12-bit 422 H.264 with improved detail/sharpness (guessing the debayer process is weak- not sure if there is enough CPU power), then the 5D3 would be an all new camera (I'd pay for the firmware upgrade).

Wow... What is up with the FS700 skintone? It just looks unnatural. Is that the best it can do? She is 100% more beautiful in the 5D3 shot.

Well, the FS700 skintones are at least partly my doing. That said, it's been quite the challenge to get the FS700 looking as good as the 5D3 skintones. With my current gear, I can focus better with the 5D3 (using a 2.5x viewfinder) so I used it exclusively for my last production (the FS700 will need a good EVF or display panel- more gear, more weight, more complexity). Another part of the equation is lighting- the Sony can do better with better lighting (and only one color source). However, the 5D3 just does better under these conditions.

The FS700 has 6 built in picture profiles, all of which can be tweaked. I spent a lot of time with the FS700 hooked up to a quality Sony HDTV, trying to set up a picture profile that was simply accurate and didn't do weird things in low light or bright light (as in incorrect color/hue shifts). Lots of folks want a custom look or a 'film look'. I'd be happy with an accurate look (custom looks can be done in post). I raised the accuracy issue in one of the Convergent Design Odyssey 7Q threads. Perhaps CD can get it right (accurate Rec709/sRGB straight from the camera).

For now, I'll be shooting more with 5D3 RAW. It's more work managing the files, however a 4TB drive is $149. 8TB or $300 is more than enough storage to shoot a feature (master plus backup).
