5D3 prices after NAB?

For some smaller projects we are going to buy 1-2 more 5D3s in April / start of May. Any point in waiting till the end of the month for any kind of price drop?
 
Doubt the price will change; Canon mainly sells them to photographers, and there had been no seismic change in that area recently...
 
Yep. Canon basically decided to give up the market for 5D video up a few years ago for higher margin products. The MKIII is a great stills camera really without much need for an upgrade. I would guess they are going to sit on the MKIV for quite some time and leave the MKIII as is.
 
if you buy used you will find a lot on ebay soon because a lot of people will be selling their mark III for gh4's and sony a7s'
 
For the 5D2, I believe the video market was relatively large, maybe 15% or 20% of the cameras Canon sold. But for the 5D3, there's a lot more competition, I'd be surprised if we are more than 5% of the market for this camera. The GH4 and the A7s will probably have no impact on ebay listings for the 5D3.

We'll I own a 5dmk3 among other cameras, so I'm kind of the target market for the A7s, and I have to say I am very temped by the A7, and may well buy one if the price is right. (I'm not interested in the GH4 due to its mutant sensor size).

However, I doubt I'll sell the 5Dmk3, because the A7 won't be able to match the Canon for stills, and the 5d still makes really nice video. So many people specifically request that the 5d must be used on paid jobs; and I doubt that will change in the next year or so.
