Are you thinking about the 4K version? Have you thought about the Sony A7s? Sorry to ask...Im just very interested about that Sony and I m collecting opinions:-)
I think Canon glass can work normally with some adapter.

The A7s looks very promissing. It still shoots 8 bit H264. You need an external recorder to shoot 4K and a Ninja is another $1,000. The BMCC for $2,000 may be all I need at the moment for 3 commercial projects on the books for June. I've been thinking about this since the BMCC was announced and I know for sure I've strained all I can out of my Canon DSLRs. Not to say I won't still be shooting with them they still have a place for now.
the 4K still has a few grey areas we don't know about and the BMCC DR is the most important thing I'm looking for, so for the price it's a pretty easy decision. I still have my 2 Canons as backup if I get a few glitches on opening day.

Thanks for the reply Michael...yes at 2000$ BMCC is a good option! However I believe (and hope) 8 bit will be only on paper limitation for the A7s.

The reality is lenses are at least half of the cost of a basic shooting kit. I don't have a huge collection of Canon lenses but have a tamron 17-50 2.8 and just added a Canon L 70-200 f4is. There is no way around it, if you change your camera to one not made for the electronics they may not work as well. If I bought an A7s with the 2 similar zooms from Sony the total price would go over $5,000, so that's the bottom line no matter how great the camera is.
I need the up my picture quality. Raw with the large data consumption will be trouble, but recording in raw 2.5k then converting to Prorez 422 @2.5 picture size will cut about 75% of stored data and still have the original image recorded in raw with the 13 stops of DR.
The BMCC has been out about 2 years and proven to provide amazing images. So yes $2,000 is a lot of bang for the buck.

In the last 2.5 years I've spent $4000 on lenses and $1000 on cameras. Add another $2500 for the a7s that I have just preordered, and I'm still quite heavier on glass. But that glass is vintage, manual focus, with Leica-R mount, so it should last me decades, no matter what camera I switch to. All primes; it would be much more difficult with zooms, or if you want IS (in fact, in that case you probably want to use Canon glass and a metabones smart adapter to whatever camera you use... which can't be Nikon or Sony A) (Stu Maschwitz went that route, I guess he'll write about the experience when he gets the camera).
