5D3 and HTP

So, after discussing this a bit over at this thread, Squig ran some tests and found that there's some fixed-pattern noise when you turn HTP on. Still, I'd like to see if DR is actually improved or not, and how bad FPN actually is. If it gets you one extra stop of DR, it may be interesting to create a specific Flaat profile for 5D3+HTP. FPN is easier to correct than blown-out highlights, if you have the time and tools to deal with it in post (I'm not saying it's easy; it's not easy at all; just easier than blown-out highlights).

Anybody with a 5D3 and time to run some tests? Send me a PM and I'll mail you the instructions to shoot the bits that allow me to plot these pretty graphs:

Sure, gimme a heads up. I've used HTP on occasion but I always make sure I use intermedia ISOs with it as it then pushes those shadows down a bit (iso 320, 640 etc). Only use it when the scene really, really calls for it. I've had a couple of times when it was a lifesaver, but I would never just keep it on always.
