After successfully using the tripod on regular 2/3" cams, the 5DM2 will not balance when panning to the other right. It's annoying. Not only I'm limited by the f/stop constraint, now it's tripod pan limitation.
Cartoni Focus, Cartoni Delta, Satchler DV18 all showed the exact same problem.. Where's this camera center of gravity? I put all tripod plates on the base camera. There's no other way I can think of.
It's great when you're doing scripted narrative work, but live event and documentary is extremely difficult. The one take shot is ruined due to improper balance when panning too much to the right or the left. It appears that there's only a small range that the camera will not go out of the straight horizon.
What's also odd is that even the bubble balancer on a video tripod say's centered, the camera's is not. It's also way off. Happened on all three different grades of video tripod. Does anybody experience this balance problem on fluid head tripod?
