okay i know its not comparable in sensor size, yet could it possible to think that nikon has a chance against this great camera? i have not seen a decent comparison video of this, and i would like to hear from users howcome a d7000 hasnt been even considered to be a rival? just out of curiosity...

A couple of reasons why it is not often considered:

No aperture control while recording with G-lenses.
No "wysiwyg" preview to gauge exposure.
Everybody who cares about HDSLR has already switched to Canon.

In addition it has all the same problems of the 5DmkII (record limit, rolling shutter, no headphone jack, etc) and offers nothing that Canon doesn't (except for the questionable AF).

i didnt quite get the feeling it was a just comparisson, using a prime on the canon, and a zoom on the nikon, its not apples with apples is it? im very inclined to a canon 5d i have seen some serious pro work done with it and the latitude issue feels more like a matter of exposure and correct under over exposing...
on the matter with the d7000 i have worked around its limitations and feel almost confortable in it, yet, i am in love with the full frame possibilities on a canon 5d and im not scared of magic lantern, i like the canon video latitude, color, and immage.

im kind of going thru a serious soul searching on which system to use, i have been looking for the prommised land of affortable film like cam, the nikon does a wonderful job have stuck to nikon because of the amount of primes on hand, yet i want more, dont we all!

the 5d does it superb, i am constantly feeling like the tools perform according to the handler, much more ant the tools by themselves.
I have been thinking about an af 100, but i feel like i cant streatch that far, and already have a rig with ff, matte box, rods and all, so heck im inclined to see what a canon can do in my hands, before taking a leap of an extra 2,400$ more...
