5D MKIII: Audio internal or external?

So, is there still a big problem with recording audio straight to the camera with the changes in the 5D MKIII? I am shooting with an NTG-2 and I am wondering if I need to go external or if internal is ok.

Audio is fine with a MixPre D. We ditched dual audio after we got our mix pre D.

I always use a mixer as a front end to all my cameras, and record to both the camera and the backup audio recorder.

I compared audio recorded with my Sennheiser EW100 system plugged into the GH3, 5D3 and F3. No surprise the F3 was by far the cleanest but with a bit of eq in protools and some dynamic effects the audio is fully acceptable from the 5D3. I always have the volume low on the 5D3 and boost if needed on the Sennheiser receiver.
