As for matching the Canon 5D II and the Sony FS7, can you make the Sony files look just the Canon ones without manipulating the Canon files?

Assuming the color information is there (shot at a low ISO, proper WB, etc.), yes you can make it look like Canon or pretty darn close, but you have to start messing with color wheels to match the look which is a lot more painstaking work. If all I want to do is adjust contrast, curves saturation, exposure, blacks, shadows, highlights, whites and WB (meaning not messing with how colors are represented) then I prefer Canon colors or Sony. This is coming from someone with a $8K Sony camera and a $1k Canon camera, colors alone, I choose the 5D II.

I never liked Sony's color science. Always loved Canon's.
