5D Mark III raw footage please...

Looking into buying a 5Dmark 3, would love if someone can supply us with a cinestyle ALL-I raw straight out of the camera footage for us to play with in order to see how much the footage can be manipulated in post, it's hard to tell sometimes with YouTube and Vimeo compression. This would be greatly apricated to help us decide to make the jump from 5D mark 2. Thanks in advance

Ruben and Sheri =)

Hey Ruben if I knew more about my camera I would send you some footage but if you can wait until October I should be able to give you what you need if you haven't received anything by that time.

DPreview has some raw files from the 5d3, all ALL-i at both 720 and 1080. Picture styles and quite alot of settings aren't listed, though, so take with a pinch of salt if you like/don't like the footage
Though I've tried sharpening and grading and they do respond quite well.

*I've put some of the files into vegas, it seems that some of their frame rates are incorrect. Some are said to be 24, but vegas recognized them as 29.97 fps files. So don't trust their frame rates

Hey Donald which Vegas are you using? And how do you like Vegas with the 5d3? Thanks

I use vegas pro 11 with magic bullet looks 2.0
Well, i don't own the 5d3 yet, so all my experience with 5d3 footage is from raw footage I've downloaded, but so far, vgeas seems to be quite at home with 5D3 clips thanks to the gpu acceleration. The 5D3 footage is soft out of the box but sharpening works a treat. I haven't tried extreme colour grading yet, but from what I've tried with magic bullet, the 5d3 files grade quite similarly to my avchd camera, so that's a good start for a dslr.

Can you post a clip? I have Vegas 9 which doesn't work to well with 5d. The laptop is in the shop at the moment. When I get it back I was thinking of upgrading to Vegas 11. I don't know much about magic bullet. Thanks

Well, i haven't shot anything with the 5dmk3 so I don't really have any clips to post.
yes, Vegas 11 will work alot better when it comes to editing avchd and dslr clips

That's a good point never thought about that? Thank you very much! Hopefully we can figure this out :) if you can please make sure the sharpness is down to zero and the contrast is also down to zero saturation negative 2, also cine style if possible with those same settings thank you very much!
I can shoot some footage from the 5d mkiii at ALL-I but not sure how to get the footage over to you?

So you have a mk3? good for you :D

Why don't you try putting the files into vegas and see how it goes? testing it yourself is always more conclusive. But i wouldn't mind seeing how zero sharpness/neutral looks :)
Just remember not to overdo the sharpening in post or it looks crap (not more than 40 using the vegas sharpening filter) . Also, using your curves, crushing the red curve a slight bit seems to yield great results. I do this in magic bullet, but the standard vegas colour curves work great too.

I just started shooting Marvel Cine on my T4i and I like it quite a bit so far. I have not tried it on the 5D3 yet.

Some information and comparisons on Bloom's site, with links to the creator's site.

I think some of the negative artifacts people see are from shooting the Standard Picture Style,, with exposure way to the left (black/dark values), with compression noise there. There is not a good signal to noise ratio in that first stop, so the noise shows up in a heavy grade.

In Premeiere Pro, I have been throwing on USM (300, 0.9, 0) as a default sharpening to counteract the AA filter. That is my working default, though I tune depening on subject, etc.

I am quite happy with the T4i. Looking forweard to getting to know the 5D3.

Good luck!

Yup 650D is a winner =) Wish I had a 5D mark 3 though...

Still messing with it. October I have the Canon Film Class on the 5d so after that I should have a better feel with it.
