5D mark III and external monitor issues

hello,

i believe this is a known problem, but want to see if anybody has an advice. i'm using mark iii with ikanD5 monitor.

for some reason, i never get picture on monitor when after powering up monitor and camera. it seemingly doesn't engage
the HDMI connection. and then, i have to shut down both monitor and camera (and sometimes take out battery), then power
up again...and sometimes i have to do this several times, before i get picture on monitor.

it's definitely not cable or hdmi port issue...

does anybody have any suggestions?

Had you tested the output with a different monitor?

I haven't had any issues with my 5d mkiii and Marshall V-LCD70MD monitor.

The only issues I have had was with the cable. Now I carry a couple of them when I shoot.

I have enough short HDMI cables and connectors to start a store. Never ever rely on only one HDMI cable as they can "break."

I had to learn (HDMI) the hard way TWICE!!!
