Cross-Examiner
To those who like to compare apples to oranges, here are the differences between both kits: 5D Mark II and 550D.

Download the file in "Descarga el Capítulo 210".

The CA comes from the lens, but the better response on the contrast and sharpness is also 5D Mark II trademark.

If you think this only applies to stills not video or the glass is a matter of little importance to the HDSLRs, I have no words to express how you are wrong, only pictures. LOL ;-)

The words come in spanish, even though I believe a good picture worths all the blabla, so...

Informative test, thanks. The different quality of lenses doesn't hide the difference of price.

I have the 5Dmk2, while my wife has the T2i (550D)... and I can definitely say there is very little difference in what these cameras can accomplish. I would not trade my 5D for a T2i because I really like the full frame sensor, but having said that, I think it's safe to say that for the most part you can accomplish the same quality with either cam. For $2399 I expect the 5D to be amazing... for $799, I'm absolutely blown away by what the T2i can do and it's difficult to tell them apart... The T2i is definitely better when it comes to handheld footage, and the placement of the record/live-view button is better on the T2i in my opinion...

T2i/550D can shoot a feature film just as well as a 5D.

The 5D will give you better low light and better dynamic range but also requires better lenses.

The biggest difference in Canons DSLR lines is not the sensors used but rather the build quality of the cameras.
