5d Mark II problem on FCP

Hi there,
I recently did some filming for a project in miami and bahamas. This is my first time working with 5d on fcp

I followed the steps on following site to create easy set up. After doing whenever I bring the footage on to time line and plays back, it freezes as audio continues and then starts

what am i doing wrong? I don't even haev Unlimited RT option anymore

Do not use H.264 codec files as originating from the camera. Convert the files to something else for post work using MPEG Streamclip (I convert to - XDCAM HD422 1080p30) after using Cinema Tools to conform to 29.97.

This is what I am trying to find out. How do you edit 5D or 7D files?

Isn't there a straightforward, FREE way to convert the files onto something that can be edited easily?

My interest is on way to use Avid MC to edit the stuff.

Convert the files to something else for post work using MPEG Streamclip.

Is it transparent? Anything you lose in the conversion? Image quality results are comparable to what?

I did a quick reading on the info about MPEG Streamclip in Squared 5. It doesn't mention any HD type you can convert to in order to capture with Avid. Something I'm missing?

No quality loss. Convert to any DNXHD codec you currently have installed on your system.

It took me a minute but once I got a work flow established and a work around this cameras minor issues, it is an amazing little camera, Love it !
