59.94 to dvd looks bad

I have some footage I shot at 720p60 on my HMC150. I understand 59.94 can not go on DVDs. When I sent to compressor from FCP I choose the preset "DVD best quality 90 minutes." When I put that mpeg-2 into DVD studio pro and previewed in simulator window it looked pretty lousy. The footage of cars driving by had some weird line issues, almost like an interlacing problem, which seems funny because I shot progressive. My sequence settings in FCP were 59.94, 1280x720, no field dominance. Can anyone tell me if I missed or anything, or if I need to try something else in Compressor?

Just a question, but why are you trying to deliver in 59.94? What was the purpose of shooting such a high frame rate? Did you plan on slowing it down?

Well, it was a kids softball game. So I figured I'd shoot it at a high frame rate since there's a lot of motion. I was going to put some of the footage on DVD for some people. I didn't plan on conforming any of the footage to 24 or 30 in Cinema tools. I think I found the problem though. It seems compressor defaults to lower field first field dominance, even though my sequence in FCP is set to none. I changed the field dominance to progressive in Compressor. I'm guessing this will look a lot better when it'd done.

DVD does not support 60p. The best you can do to retain temporal resolution is to do 30i, which is, as it can be inferred from "i", is interlaced. Watch it on a TV from a DVD player and you will not see interlacing artifacts.
