Has anyone had experience and footage of the 576/25P option on the camera yet? If so, how would you say it compares to CF25 in HD mode on the Z1U? Just curious . . .

Can't use 576/25 on mine, as that's PAL, but I've used 480/24 a little... you have to keep in mind that 576/25p is standard DV, so the Sony's CF25 is still going to have twice as many pixels. They'll have about the same vertical resolution, but the Sony will have twice as much horizontal resolution.

Yes, I've used the DV modes on the HD100E. It's pretty good. I will probably buy the camera for use as a B camera on a SD broadcast project today, as it happens - so I'm sold on it. However, the CA is most definitely present and so is the split screen to an extent that varies from camera to camera. I'm trying to get a deal buying the camera with the 13x lens but I'm not sure how far I'll get with this. Having said this I reckon that for most people the HD100 is a perfectly good DV camera with true 16x9 (essential for most broadcast work in Europe) and I prefer the images it produces to the DVX, which I have owned and used since it was released. The other option for SD would be the XL2, of course - if you can stand the lack of balance and can afford the viewfinder and lens upgrades.

I can't comment on a comparison with HDV CF footage from the Z1 because I've never used one of those. However, I'm reliably informed that the CF mode is not impressive.
