550d t2i = Buy it with Kit lens or no?

Tears, your in the right place. There are a lot of good people here sharing a ton of info. I would check out the lens specs on photozone.com. It's the down and dirty lab sht that doesn't lie, No lens gets a pass there. If a lens can survive there it should do well on the streets. I'm looking forward to the 550D next month with a 17-40L. I set up an i7 PC this month that can take up to 24gigs of ram (Only 9 gigs so far). It edits EX3 footage in layers with no rendering. I'm looking forward to test it with 1080p H-264. out of the t2. I suspect those raw files will be a bumpy road, but you never know till you try.

Will do, I'm a Mac guy myself and use a 2007 MBP (2.2. Ghz/ 4gb Ram). Not as fast as a current system but overall it works ( Gh1 video editing 1080p) I'm waiting for the Quad Core Macbook Pros to come out for me to upgrade ( they are in the new Imac 27 inch)


Regardless my Buddy has a Mac Pro ( 8 Core ) which supports up to 32Gbs of Ram and he has multiple HDs in there striped in Raid configuration so I don't have anything to worry about hardware wise. Right now I'm just working on Personally and Local material, when I grow so will my system. I Hope the t2i comes out this week :grin:
