GH3 50mm Lens = Looking for Great Modern Glass for GH3

Please don't hijack my thread, if you have this question you are free to make your own......

Basically to answer your question real quick, here it goes. There is no difference as it would basically be the same view. Full Frame has a larger meaning when you place a 50mm lens on it , it gives a different view than when you place the same lens on the GH2/Gh3.

Full Frame being wider translates this same view where as the GH2/3 having a smaller sensor makes that same 50mm lens more telephoto. So if you want the same view that a 50mm does on a FF camera you would need a 25mm for the GH2/3. I believe the crop of the GH2 is around 1.8 and the GH3 1.9-2.0. In comparison the 7d has a crop of 1.6.

Sorry JFR! No hijack attempt,,li just wanted to help recommend, but felt that I was misunderstanding your original question. I love my penny 25mm, but I now understand you want a true 50mm, not a 4/3 version. Thanks for the clarification/explanation

If you're considering a f2 macro, don't discount the 4/3 mount Olympus 50/2 macro... excellent optics.

For legacy lenses, Leica Summicron-R 50 (also f2) has the benefit of a very recessed front element that effectively acts as a built-in hood. I've never had flare or low contrast problems with this lens unless I put a huge light source in the frame, which would challenge any lens.

I'm actually interested in a Macro lens as it's great for isolating certain shots I use.
Olympus 50/2 macro

$499 in tock with great reviews, only thing is I need an adapter I'm assuming.

I was actually going to buy this 60mm Macro Lens
http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-MSC-6...8&qid=1358021858&sr=8-1&keywords=olympus+60mm

Here's some footage from the 60mm Macro with GH3

So now I have more to decide on......

Olympus 45mm f/1.8
Olympus 50mm f/2 (Macro, not 1:1)
Olympus 60mm f/2.8 (1:1 Macro)
