Well, I guess I have been here awhile. Hmm what should I say that hasnt been said before, something original? Probably should start with an apology to those who have / may have felt offended by any of my past posts. I promise Ill try harder in the future.
Anyway I was wondering what to do with my 5000th post video and I guess I like a challenge. Actually its been sitting around for a week but I have been a bit busy and I thought this post may be long winded, but now Im here and doing it, not much to say.
Would like to thank all those that have engaged in frank and meaningful discussions over the time Ive been coming here. Ive met some of you, but theres quite a number left on my list I would like to.
Anyway back to this video. So I thought what would be fun would be to create a film from scratch in six hours. I only had my nephew with me so he would have to be coerced (forced) to be whatever character I came up with.
So the day went something like this. 9 am brainstorming with a 15 year old about story lines / themes. Quickly gave up on him as his idea (and excuse the language - but funny nonetheless for my inner child) was about a boy who wanks too much and eventually pulls it right off. Anyway after he went back to the TV, I decided the best way to test my directorial skills would be to have him play a part that a 15 year old boy would have the most discomfort with, so that provided me an outcome and I built the story from there.
Challenges
15 year old whose never acted and is now faced with a very uncomfortable piece to act.
Theres only me for sound / lighting / camera etc etc etc
I just blew my first 90 minutes getting the script down.
Outcomes
A couple of shots missed focus.
A couple of dodgy sound captures.
I shot it, edited, graded it, and did the sound and titles completely in 6 hours.
I was pretty happy with that.
Anyway please watch if you dare
WARNING - SOME SCENES CONTAIN SWEARING AND ARE OF A SEXUAL NATURE (NO NUDITY).
And remember this was done from concept to output in 6 hours, even set design, doesnt seem much but theres some subtle things that I needed to do.
Oh and please forgive me for my poor cameo as an actor.

Oh and if your wondering about file output, it was meant to be 720 but I mistakingly did 480, I could to another but thats what I ended with in my allotted time. If anyone really wants to see a 720 version Ill have time in next day or so.
EDIT: Wanted to add - shot on the 500 and there was a complete shot list for everything.
Oh and we did rehearsals before each shot and only ever did two takes.
