$500 Rebate

So I'm filling out my $500 rebate form and it says in the fine print that I must include a copy of the 4-year warranty certificate, and that I get it at panasonic.biz/sav/pass_e (could they have made that URL easier?).

Part of that site is in Japanese. Do I print it from there somewhere or wait for some registration packet to get to me in the mail after I register there?

You know how these rebates are: one comma out of place and the whole thing is null and void, so I want to make sure all my Ts are crossed here...

Thanks. I registered there at that site. Is that all that's needed? Will I just get the certificate in the mail, or do I have to request it somwhere/how?

Nevermind; just stumbled on that other thread about this. Guess it takes a few weeks to get the email.

It will come in your email. (There's a box to click for english on the upper right on the website.) It took one DVX user about 3 weeks. Mine came Today (4 weeks, one day). A week or so means 1-5 weeks!

Hi,

When you register your warranty, please include all information, address, email everything. While the site doesn't necessarily require it, it is necessary for the USA. I know the system isn't perfect but I do know they are trying really hard to process quickly.

Also, I will say that because of this rebate the number of registrations has gone up by 100% from normal, which is interestingly enough was only about 50% of the total number sold.

Best,

Jan

...it also looks like the rebate has been extended until December, for those who are curious.

Uh, I don't want to call bullshi* on the 'rebate extension' just yet, but neither Panasonic, nor B&H list anything about a rebate extension. In fact, I checked their site today and the $500 rebate has been removed.

EDIT: I correct myself, Spec-Comm has the rebate listed as ending in December.

I have a marketing memo from Panasonic stating the fact. Abelcine has it noted as well.

Hi,

I wrote the marketing bulletin to extend it. If I write on this forum it has been extended, it has been extended. Websites are not always updated instantly.

Thanks,

Jan

Thanks Jan, for extending it! That was just what I needed to take the plunge :)

... And also thank you to some AMAZING customer service from you, Doug Leighton, and Jason at Snader's in Norcal. They went out of their way to make sure I could get a close up look at the camera. I have no doubt that Panasonic really values their customers.

Sold! :)

I got the rebate listed in my b and h sales receipt, but no form to fill or anything. what should i do?
date of purchase - 09/24/09
