500 FCP Capture Help

I'm at a loss. Maybe someone can help me. I shot some stuff on my HPX500 in 1080/24P. I went to capture my footage in FCP and it won't work. I connect the camera to my Mac using a 1394 cable with my device control in FCP set on DVCPRO HD Firewire and my capture/input on DVCPRO HD 1080pA24 48khz. It reads the VTR and controls the camera using the capture window buttons but when I press the "now" button under "capture" I get a quick flash of a black capture window which says "waiting for timecode." It disappears and the preview goes back to disabled - (the preview works until I try to capture.)


I am no techie by any means so I'm awfully confused as to what I may be doing wrong. HELP!!!!!!

Im assuming Dan that you dont have anyt other way to read the p2 cards?

Right. Unless there is someway that I am unaware of. I don't have a deck or anything like that.

Try Log and Transfer? Not Capture. Also you should be able to transfer the cards into to the computer first. This is my usual procedure. Do the cards mount on the desktop?
