The web site explains the trip, but not much about the movie yet. We just finished day one of our fifty day production. We're driving north out of New York city heading north through Boston on Friday and on to Main on Saturday.

I'm using an HVX200 for my main camera with four 4 GB cards and a P2 store. I also have a DVX along that will shoot footage from the actors POV and trip video journals for the web site. Running around Manhattan I saw a lot of people using DVX's.

The final documentary will be a 90 to 120 min long.

Cool, but what will the film be about? Just following you guys around like a home video? Or will it be themed some how? Are you interviewing people? Are you trying to see how each city has a different culture and experience?

It's about achieving goals, about living in a country where we are free to set a course and go. We are taking a 13,000 mile trip across the country, one state at a time. We will be seeing and doing things that show that idea. Going from Kitty Hawk, NC to the Kennedy Space Center.

Very consistent. You danced around every state sign you came up to. I think you probably did a very intelligent movie. I'm imagining this is only Youtube quality and not the way the movie will look like, am I right?

Anyway, it was an ambitious achievement and a great idea, and it seems you have pulled it off. Good luck. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Yes, the clip running past all the signs is only a teaser. The quality will be much better than youtube shows. We shot 720P 60fps for most of it. We also had a DVX shooting more "tourist" type footage that is mixed into the final movie. I am planning on posting some raw footage onto our myspace page in the coming weeks and months. The date for being completly done keeps moveing but right now I'm looking to September. There are some screen shots posted on our myspace page also.
