5 More Newbie Questions

I really feel like I am starting to get the hang of this camera.

However, here are 5 new questions that have me confused:

#1 What are scene files and how are they used?

#2 When I record from the standard mic the volume on playback is incredibly low (barely audible). My channel 1 and channel 2 audio dials are set in the middle. Is there something I need to do to kick up the audio? I realize for shooting a film I will need real mics and a boom, but for just quick stuff (daughter's play) isn't there a way to pump up the volume?

#3 What is the auto button for? I've read the manual 5 times and I am still confused.

#4 Is there a good description of the difference between 24p and 24p advanced I can read somewhere. I am having a tough time telling the difference. I will be editing using final cut pro - should that determine which one I use?

#5 What is the Photo Shot button on the remote for?

That's it for now, thanks again,

Chris

Re: 5 More Newbie Questions

2. The mics (on-board) are meant for ambient recording. Panasonic never intended you to use them as your main mics. They are omnis and will pick up all kinds of camera noise when their levels are cranked up.

3. The auto button performs most major functions automatically in a pinch, like focus, apperture....read the manual. I don't use the feature.

4. go to www.adamwilt.com

5. Cheesy, but it's for other Panasonic cameras, not the DVX100.

Number 1 is a bit long winded, maybe others will jump in.
