5 Min. Horror Short (PLEASE CRITIQUE)

It was a silly video.

You picked one of the hardest genre's to tackle, my man, especially when you want to do it in 5 minutes.

To scare a person you really have to have an intuitive and psychological sense of fear. I recommend studying up on the greats and since you're were going for a supernatural feel I would recommend something like Suspiria by Argento or The Shining by Kubrick. You also mentioned graphic novels so in that department I would say From Hell by Alan Moore, not scary, but brutal and brilliant in setup, and actually maybe kinda scary.

Which is important in horror, the setup. Much foreplay is required when you want to invoke the fear. Take your time, lull the viewer in and then go for the bra strap. Again, with five minutes to work with that 's pretty ambitious but it can be done.

The Halloween haunted house loop track is not your friend. But if you recut it with the Benny Hill tune I think it would hi-larious (but then what isn't with the benny hill tune?)

Does this make sense? No, probably not. But I hope it helps.

Also didn't get a Tarantino/graphic novel vibe from it at all. Has Tarantino ever did horror? Oh yeah, that one with the car...
 
Appreciate the criticism bro. I'm new to the genre, so I tried my best. Like you said there's a lot of studying that needs to be done, guess I need to do some more homework.
