Greetings all,

I had a friggin' exciting and also a nightmareish phone call today when the Local dealer I put my order in with called at 8:30 to let me know that my camera and 5 others arrived. I ordered it on January 6th and 20 days later it was in. I was 3rd on his list and he expected the camera in March. So I am having to scramble to get all the cash in place and all that.

I'm partnering up on this one with a friend until the other camera I orderd through AVS comes in.. at a substantially cheaper price. I think I booked my first gig today shooting at the Daytona 500, possibly. If anyone is in the state or outside has an upcoming project, I'll be giving some great rates to get some field experience with the camera and to work up a demo reel of stuff.

I think it's been a crazy day. I'm hoping to get some gigs so that I'll be able to pay off the credit cards by the time the bills come in. Also, anyone get to use the Marshall monitor yet? It looks like a nice unit, but it's pricey. I also woulnd't trust that ballmount it comes with. I have a SD 5.6 LCD from them and I'm nervous over my 300 dollar unit, so I can't imagine how on edge I would be about the 1800 Marshall.

God speed to all. I'll let you know how it goes when we have it in our hands which shouuld be by the middle to end of this week. Just hope he's cool with paying with cash, credit cards, chuck-e-cheese tokens, and beer coupons.

Well, you'd have to beat my son at some of his favorite games and he's one tough 5 year old. You would have him beat on driving games as he can't reach the peddles yet

Congrats Justyn! And we'll be waiting for footage@low_lighting, as well. :) No hard low light feelings, I hope so!

Justyn, does this mean we don't have to pick you up for the road trip? We'll miss your VW . . . experience.

Well possibly. I am still in mourning over the VW explosion. I lost my water-housing for my cam. When the fire was out... I had to mop up the housing as it had completely melted down to it's liquid form. Yucky times there.

I have the Marshall V-R70P-HDA and so far it's great. I'll have it tested out with the HVX200 in a few days. I purchased the Bogen ball mount instead of the Marshall:

It's very sturdy - the HVX200+Marshall mounted on top would be very limited for Run and Gun, so I'd say plan accordingly, and if you really need to be mobile, shoot with the stock HVX LCD with focus assist.

I appreciate the hookup on the other ball mount. Looks much better. I would also like to pick up a table stand as well, and some kind of mountable arm to my tripod.. or off the tripod. My other thinking would be to buy a platform for my c-stand or something like that. Any ideas?

Did you also buy a hoodman? What type of case are you using? Pelican might be the best and cheapest.... I was originally going to lug a Dell 2405 around, but that would get to suck real quick... and I got more credit cards than I planned. Viva the bankruptcy.
