5.5 Upgrade Problem

I recently bought the Xpress Pro 5.5 upgrade on Avid.com for mac. I installed it and it runs perfect on a powerbook but when I installed it on my Desktop it wouldn't play the video in my timeline but I could hear the audio.

I had this same problem on the powerbook but once I upgraded to QuickTime 7.1 everything worked fine. I've upgraded to QT 7.1 on my desktop becuase I thought the problem would be fixed but it stills does the same thing ( audio plays but video doesn't).

Also, I just downloaded version 5.6 and I still have the same problem.

Does anyone know a solution to this problem? If so, please let me know!

Thanks,

Chris

I'm running 10.4.7 on a Dual 867 with 1 GB of RAM. The clips are also running off of a G-Drive external HD hooked via firwire 800

That's a G4 right? What kind of video card is in it? Since the only G4 that Avid has qualified is the Powerbook, it could be that the upgrade simply won't work right on the older machine.

My graphics card is a GeForce4 Ti 4600 with 128mb VRAM. I searched for a driver update but couldn't fine it on the NVIDIA website. It says on Avid that a Graphics card supported by Apple with 128MB will work.

It was working fine until I decided to update. Do you know where I can find the driver update?

Thanks,

Chris
