4K2HD w/ FS700 -- Does Rec709 work?

Hey guys,

I haven't ever tested it... But a producer changed his mind last minute, and needs non-log footage.

I recall there being "highlight issues" where they had a red tint I think? Just one of the first firmware versions? How is most recent FW with this recording route?

Is anyone shooting using it with success? Any tricks? Should I just avoid it all together and shoot internal AVCHD w/ the proven CineGammas?

imho it does not work as it has still highlight issues with purple edges and very fast crushed blacks. If you are not able to test it for your own I'd stay away from it and use what you have already proven. By the way: since the 7Q came out AVCHD has not become toxic ;-)
 
Avoid it. As Clermond says, pink aliased highlights and too crushed blacks. S-Log is the only profile the works well IMO. Rec 800 is very, very noisy.
