GH4 4K Workflow For Edit Systems Like FCP-7

Have we put the cart before the horse or have you guys figured out an affordable way to edit 4K files from the GH4. I see 4K as something we all need to embrace but personally I’m not ready to spend 10K to get started.

What are you guys doing and are you able to edit 4K files from the GH4, if you are and have a practical workflow for edit systems like FCP-7 perhaps you would share it with us.

Both FCP X and Premiere Pro on the Mac side are capable of working with 4K files.

Very interested in this as well. Are there even 4k or UHD versions of DNxHD and ProRes codecs? I doubt that NLEs will support the GH4 4k codec at it's launch...

I've played with MOV's from the GH4 with FCP X 10.1.1 - No issues at all

Avid has some interesting things going on in media composer 7 - frameflex, and the ability to burn in a variety of luts when you transcode 4k footage to 1080p. I doubt the wait for a 4k native codec will be long.
